Cocoon

My animated short film titled 'Cocoon' explores themes of growth, mental health and group mentality through the lens of 'Small Town Syndrome' - that is, growing up in a small, contained community without awareness of or care for the world outside of this bubble.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission

"Left Behind" is a short film created as a graduate consultancy project with University of the Arts London, where I was tasked to assist in the visual development for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. I was brought on as an animator and illustrator to help connect pieces of the film's story more seamlessly and add additional visual appeal.

"Left Behind" is a short film created as a graduate consultancy project with University of the Arts London, where I was tasked to assist in the visual development for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Dust Bunnies

"Dust Bunnies" is a short film created for university in response to the initial COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown measures. The message of the film is to say that although we may be in isolation, we are all going through this new and scary experience together. The animated characters throughout the project serve as a visual representation of this idea – you may not see them yourself in the moment but in the back of your mind you know they’re there. The lighthearted nature of the film was intended to be in some way comforting for the viewer, during such global turmoil.

This project was an official selection for the Blue Heeler Film Festival 2021, and displayed in the "Home of the Future" exhibition by Samsung KX.

Dust Bunnies

"Dust Bunnies" is a short film created for university in response to the initial COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown measures. The message of the film is to say that although we may be in isolation, we are all going through this new and scary experience together. The animated characters throughout the project serve as a visual representation of this idea – you may not see them yourself in the moment but in the back of your mind you know they’re there. Bathroom Horror

A story shared by social media star Nogla, where he describes a traumatic bathroom mishap experienced as a child, has become a recurring topic on his YouTube channel. Every 4 years, I am tasked with the job of reanimating the story for the entertainment of his viewers. This is the most recent iteration, where myself and my small team of animators and artists brought the story to life once more.

Fragment

"Fragment" is a short audio/visual experience created for university. The project aims to explore the process of recalling a dream after waking, with the intention to foster a feeling of disorientation and uncertainty from the audience, yet at the same time allow them to feel as though they’ve been on some sort of journey. This particular piece of work would be most effectively viewed in an exhibition or gallery setting, where the entire space can be controlled in regards to light, sound and electronic displays at a large scale - to create a truly immersive experience.

BLUE.

"BLUE." is a an animated short film that I created during my final year of high school. The project brief was simple, stating to create a body of work that communicates something meaningful to you, through a medium which is appropriate for the message and viewer experience - and so I decided to focus my work on mental health awareness.

Daily routine was the most effective way I could show a gradual shift in wellbeing, slowly but surely altering mundane activities as the days pass for the main character. The primary visual device employed throughout was the colour blue gradually invading the scenes as his mental health deteriorated.

This project won first place at the Blue Heeler Film Festival in 2016.
